Knowledge takes on many forms. Together, craft and science allow me to explore the problems that don’t fit neatly into boxes and to discover what exists in the spaces between the categories that I live in.
I’m an academic scientist and fibre artist fascinated by the opportunities heritage animal and plant fibres offer to materials science. I want to understand how their unrivalled properties can emerge from their imperfections.
To achieve this will require a community and a shared language which I hope to build through this blog.
